DFG Grants
DFG - Disabled Facilities Grants are paid under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 for the provision of grant aided adaptations for disabled persons' properties within the UK.
In short . . . You could get a grant from your council if you’re disabled and need to make changes to your home, for example to:
- Level Access Shower Rooms
- Widen doors and install ramps
- Improve access to rooms and facilities - eg stairlifts or a downstairs bathroom
- Provide a heating system suitable for your needs
- Adapt heating or lighting controls to make them easier to use

Foundations is the National Body for the Disabled Facilities Grant and Home Improvement Agencies in England.
This means that their contracted by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to oversee a national network of over 200 Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) and handyperson providers across the country.
